Be sure to read the Readme file if you are installing it for the first time. You have to enter your API key and secret code from Facebook. It won't work until all of the information is entered, so read the file.

Seems to be working on my 3.8.4 forum. New members still have to enter in some information, but it's better than nothing. I will keep it unless there are troubles down the road.

If you don't have an API Key, you need to go to Facebook https://developers.facebook.com/apps/ and get one for your board.

That template is gone now. The new one just has an option to connect/disconnect.

As the developer says in the description above: "In this new version, there are only the basic features: register and login (some simple sharing too)."

Sorry to say, when you install this, A bridge should be fast and it should make registrations easy, but this one is doing the opposit! I mean its very easy to install, but Registration for my users sucks! They had to start over again,,,

Thumbs DOWN from me, Sorry and the Installation video is very hard to Understand, you could at least make some one do a video demonstration with good english.. As your codings doesnt have any fouls, but Sorry to say, such a great plugin, and A BAD DEMONSTRATION!

When you logout, you are redirected to Facebook to logout from there too. That's by design.

Thank you, I know it's supposed to redirect to facebook but it is giving certificate errors now. Like the ones i posted... It didn't use to do this.

You meant the browser certificate error? Can you take a screenshot? If it's the browser's, it's something wrong with Facebook servers, not this add-on.

The Facebook servers in your region is having certification error. Please wait for a few hours/days for Facebook to resolved itself.

There is no new version currently.

Facebook notification is not available for non-canvas application as far as I know. Sharing to Facebook is much more easier with Facebook social plugins anyway...

There is migration tool in the AdminCP to help you import.

It allows member to login with Facebook. That's all.

is this still working? if so are there any specific PHP extensions i need to enable i host from my own server. when i click connect with face book it redirects me to facebook.php?do=connect&req=1 and only shows a white page.

i will include my php.ini so you can see if i need to enable anything


update i enabled curl, and now i get

i have also made this similar to all the other fb connect so when a user is logged in with fb it will display their fb avatar, just like vb4 or that old fb connect.

i will only provide the code, feel free to edit it to your theme as you wish

for people who know what theyre doing:
so with that snippit you shoud catch the main condition for the fb id and the if condition for fb users.

if condition for fb logged in users being

and this snippet for users fb id

with knowing these you can expand on this even further, i have only begun to play around with this and will keep you updated if i find anything else

note: i will not provide support for the code placement in your theme, i gave placement for stock theme, which is the best spot for the main theme. any highly customized themes were the vb navbar looks TOTALLY different you may have to play with it to get it perfect but if your navbar looks kinda default it should work good.

also my question in the previous post still stands if anyone could help with that.

hey diretur, i think i solved this, i removed the plugin for the logout process. i havent really tested it excessively, but it seems to be working how were wanting it to.

with this, your user is on facebook decides to goto your site and hits login with facebook, and there good to go. now when they logout, and try to log back in (it normally requires re log into facebook also) but not now! =) it will just relog them right back in if they click the button.

like i said i havent tested it a whole lot just loged into facebook once and kept logging in and out of my site (about 5 times)
seems to work, but if you notice anything not working please let me know.

you can either use this attachment when you install

or just goto your plugin manager under YAFB find
Logout Process (includes/functions_login.php)
and disable only that plugin not the whole system

Hi Ryan, Long time mate, Finally I got some time to login and update my FB connect.. But this one is not working at all
And the I saw the addon you have made, for the avatar which was awesome, and boom also doesnt work! I tested it with a few boards... And not working at at all... so I think this there is a problem with this addon...

Anyways, I must give it up for the developers hard job and thanks for sharing, else this one is kinda waste of time installing!

With the changing API modifications and additional rate-limiting in Facebook, it is difficult to support the many users that will have problems and questions. It becomes too time consuming in my opinion for a free application.

The good news is Facebook has outlined their ongoing rules for API/SDK changes. We now know that an old API (core routines) will still work for two years, regardless. That is good news, as many developers have been annoyed with their policy. (I doubt that Facebook really cares.)

I haven't been able to get this to function correctly. I click on "connect with facebook", it brings me to facebook to login, I login, then it redirects me back to the forum and says "An error occured while connect with Facebook. Please try again later."
