When you get the error, view the page source for that page and you will see the actual database error near the bottom of that page. It will have some information like this:
The actual mysql query/code/problem....

There is no column groupid in the groupmessage table, so I'd say this problem is from a modification. Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
