I'm brand new with RSS Feeds... so any help will be appreciated.

I'm setting up RSS Feeds for the first time on my forum. I've enabled "Enable RSS Syndication" and "Enable XML Syndication" in the External Data Provider options.
When I attempt to add a new RSS Feed at "Add New RSS Feed" I get this error when I preview the feed.

Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Temporary failure in name resolution in [path]/includes/class_rss_poster.php on line 98

Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to www.extremebusa.com:80 (php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Temporary failure in name resolution) in [path]/includes/class_rss_poster.php on line 98

Warning: Unable to fetch RSS Feed in [path]/includes/class_rss_poster.php on line 231

Also, I don't have RSS Feeds showing up at: feed://http//www.extremebusa.com/extreme/external.php?type=RSS2

Help! And thanks in advance.

Hmm, have you mentioned this error to your host? It may be some server setting that needs to be fixed.

Also, I noticed that you cannot read any of the threads if you aren't logged in. That means you can't run an rss feed of any of the threads. Unregistered users need to be able to read the content if you are going to use the rss feeds.

I manage my own Linux server. So I don't really have anyone to complain to :)

Ahhhh... I just read that this could be a problem. I'll fix that.

Done. That was the problem.

Thanks for your help on this, Lynne!
