Check your session time in boptions > cookies > session timeout. Default is 900 seconds or 15 minutes. You may want to change that.

You are talking about the online.php page? So they show up on the list at the bottom of the index.php page, but at the same time don't show up on the online.php page at all?

You didn't really answer my question. I'm trying to figure out if this happens on only one page (online.php), or both pages (online.php and index.php).
And, when you say "his profile" will be gone, are you saying it is only one particular person who will suddenly disappear from whatever list you are talking about?

OK, so they only disappear from the index.php page? Not from the online.php?
And when a user disappears, does everyone disappear from the list, or only the one user?
Also, you realize that if someone actually logs off (clicks Logout), then they are removed from all of the lists (either the index.php list or the online.php list, forumdisplay user list, showthread user list, etc) no matter what the session time out is set to.

I have another forum where that does not happen, its running on 3.7.0, and the issue is with 3.8.3.
if a member logs off (tried this even cleared cookies) they name appears still in the whos online , takes 1 hour for them to dissapear after no activity at all.
BTW, thanks for your patience & help,
Lynne

I tested it on my 3.8.1 forum and once I logged out, I was no longer shown on the index.php page or the online.php page. If that isn't what you want and you want it how it was on 3.7, then you'll have to find the code that was changed between the two versions and change it back.
