it there anyone out there that can build my forum for me? i downloaded vB but not sure it is all correct. I also want to download vbadvance and a new skin. i really have no clue on what im doing. i was downloading vba but i guess i messed up. or if anyone has some better instructions how to build the site up.

so anything would help.

yeah i was thinking the same thing too- just didnt know if there were professional companies that did this.

That is true, I guess I was too general in my meanings. Don't trust just anyone to do it kjssmith, make sure they're trustworthy.
I recommend you do it yourself though - for self-learning reasons.

I definitely recommend you do it yourself. And, the best time to screw it up is before you are live with your forum. vbulletin offers professional installation, but that is all they will do - install the software.

yeah but im so confused about all of this. mainly about the vba and actually making all the sub forums and categories

i see that you have vbulletin already install..

if you want vbadvance installed i would suggest you move your forum into a dir called forum then install vba as it says in the install instructions, as for uploading styles these also come with readme's and are usually very simple to follow.

vba will allow you to easily be in the same directory instead of putting vbulletin in another directory. Just change the name of the vbulletin index.php file to forums.php (or whatever) and also change the name in vboptions > forumhome options.

But anyway, I'd suggest learning how to deal with the vbulletin options before you go and install vba. Why do you want vba? I ask because so many new owners just throw that onto their forums and leave it at default (they don't change the appearance at all) and it's kinda a useless page.

everytime i changed the index thing my forum went down.

Your installation is anything but correct.

The footer link leads to a Hostgator error message and your vB logo/link in the header point to http://gator1001.hostgator.com/~kj**...logo_white.gif not your domain/ public_html/images/misc......

You need to read the install instructions and place the vB Advanced folders/files in the correct locations.

Once finished the install file vbacmps_install.php (as clearly stated in all instructions) should be removed from the admincp folder.
