Hi

I hope this is the right place to submit my problem. I just surfed the hole www to find a solution but i didnt.
The Problem is, when my user (and i of course) read a thread, then the thread must be readen normaly (read icon). Bu in my case, i can read the thread several times and when i go back to look at the thread, its always unreaden... after refreshing several times the forum the unreaden icon changes to readen icon... i have 2 aktiv forums, the other one is with wbb3 but there is no problem, only with my new vB 3.8.4.

Any solution for this Problem?

Thanks for your support.

Regards

Create a new style with no parent:

Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Add New Style
Parent Style: No Parent Style
Title: Default vBulletin
Allow User Selection: Yes
Save

Then browse the site using that totally default vbulletin style - do you still have the same problem?

If it is still happening - Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Is anybody else having the problem, or only you? What type of thread marking are you using?

every user on my forum has the same problem (nearly 2500 User). What do you mean with thread marking?

vboptions > general settings > thread/forum read marking type. What do you have set there?

Not the read marking limit, the thread/forum read marking type. 10 is not an option in the option I am talking about.

If you are using cookie maring, and it isn't 'sticking' then perhaps you have something wrong in your cookies. When you go to your site, can you go to it via both www.yoursite.com and yoursite.com? Does one redirect to the other?

there is nothing wrong with the cookies i think, because all other 2500 members have the same problem with different browsers.

yep i can go both way to my forum, with www and without www...

If you can go both ways to your site, then it could be that the cookie is set for one (the one with www), but you are browsing with the other (no www). So, make one redirect to the other (can be done with htaccess - either google it or it's in several posts here) and then see if you still have the issue.

If the problem is not a redirection one, and not a style one, and not a modification one, then I'm not sure what else to suggest except to put in a support ticket.

i found something strange. When i click me step by step till i reached the unreaden thread and then go back "again" step by step to the main Forum Menu, then the thread is marked as readen (but not the main categorie thread) to make the main categorie thread readen, i have to make the same way again!
But when i click the shourtcut to the new thread (at the Main Forum Page) and then go back directly by clicking the main forum buttom, then the thread is still unreaden... maybe this info is usefull???

Like I said, if you are positive it is not a modification or style issue, then you should put in a support ticket.
