When you click the link to check for new posts, is there any way to exclude posts made by the Rss feeds?

If you have them in their own forum, yes:

To exclude forums in the New Posts button, you may add "&exclude=xx" or "&exclude=xx,yy,zz" (separate the forumids by commas) to the end of the New Posts url... ie. "/forums/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=xx" This would normally be in the navbar template. I think it occurs in a couple of places there, so you will need to edit each of those urls.

Well searched for that in the navbar template and it's not found

You are probably using a custom skin in which you can find it by doing a Search in Templates.

The excluding-method via template-edit or plugin - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=178732 - has a decisive disadvantage for me: it isn?t able to exclude single rss-feeds. Either the whole forum with the rss-feeds is excluded or the rss-feeds are showing up anyway in the new-posts-search.

I?m desperately looking for a solution to exclude solely the rss-feeds in the new-posts-search and preserve all the other threads and posts in a forum, which consists of both contents - rss-feeds and normal threads/posts.

I am also trying this too. I am having no success, but I know of a forums where the owner was successful in this. www.CarForums.net He is running numerous RSS feeds and none of them show up in the new posts at all.

Very interesting! Any possible hint to a solution is highly appreciated on my side! :)

Meanwhile I found this addon -
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=1887735#post1887735
It changes some code-portions and is able to post rss-feeds into posts, even into only one post, if wanted. That reduces the tons of newpost-entries to just one. The tool is capable of preserving the dateline and as far as I catch this, this would mean, that the initial post-creating-time is kept. So every new rss-feed-entry wouldn?t touch the newpost-search anyway.

Looks to me like he has all the rss feeds being posted to the automative news forum. It's easy to exclude a forum from the new posts.

How would you do that?

I did this but it didn't work. They are still showing up in my new posts. NAVBAR only had it listed once.

This is what I added to mine: &exclude=118,249,120,101,103,119,250,260,296

And if you hover over the link you are clicking on (that doesn't work), is that appended to the end? If not, you need to find that link and modify it. If you have a custom style, it may be that the link is in another template. Do a Search in Templates for it.

This plugin-guide provides an easy method for excluding every forum you like.
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=178732

It excludes the whole forum, so if rss-feeds (announcements or threads) are mixed with user-posts, any user-post will be excluded from the newpost-summary too.

It excludes the whole forum, so if rss-feeds (announcements or threads) are mixed with user-posts, any user-post will be excluded from the newpost-summary too. That will also blindly ignore the designated forums when doing an explicit 'Search' function.

To get around that, try a plugin like this...
