If you upgrade from 3.8.3 to 3.8.4 and you have a custom skin, do you have to upload the custom skin again/products/plugins etc etc or is it a straightforward process.

That will depend on the style and the changes between 3.8.3 & 3.8.4. In case of doubt contact the author of the style.

You would only re-upload the skin if there is a new xml available. Otherwise, you have to go about updating the outdated templates once the upgrade is complete.
