Hello,
I am having a problem uploading powerpoint files via vbulletin. I have added the ppt extension to the extension manager. However, whenever I try and upload a powerpoint file the system gives me the following message:

A database has encountered a problem.

Please try the following:
? Load the page again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.
? Open the home page, then try to open another page.
? Click the Back button to try another link.

The forum technical staff have been notified of the error, though you may contact them if the problem persists.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

I have tried turning the options to "Display thumbnail for this type" on and off as well as for the option to open the attachment in a new window. However, I still get an error and it won't let me upload a powerpoint file.

I know it is not an issue of max file size because I have it set to 20 megabytes and the file Im trying to upload is only 2 megabytes.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks!

-Gabe

When you get the error message, view the page source and you will see the actual databaes message at the bottom of the page. Please post it here so we can see what it is.

That is a mysql variable and you would have to change it through my.cnf on your server. You will probably have to ask your host for help with this.
