A small idea that a friend and I had a while ago. It started off with me knowing as much about php as I do about nuclear fission but I'm learning.

Clean layout which is good. Quick and easy to see what your site is about.

Perhaps move your menues to the top of the page rather than the side bar. When viewing forums, there is all that wasted space on the left.

Cut down on the amount of forums you have until you get members and posts. Nothing looks as bad as an empty forum.
