displaying individual profile fields using vBulletin 3.8.3? help

so i go into templates and open up memberinfo_block_aboutme

then i enter in

$post[field1]

pretty basic stuff. from what i have read this should display whatever that user has saved in their field 1 user information. it doesn't work. what am i doing wrong?

Only problem is, the page doesn't use the $post variable (that is only used in the posts). Try $userinfo instead.
