what is the best/easiest way for users to be able to display flags by their name? I tried one of the mods in search, but it didn't work after I followed all the install instructions.. has anyone had a good experience using a flag mod that works?

Wouldn't it simply work by adding a new custom profile field drop down list with all relevant countries while uploading its flags to the server and then use template conditionals to show the correct flag?
No need for a mod, I would say.
