I have been searching around and can't seem to find an answer, although I suspect they are here somewhere. Anyway...

We recently updated to 3.8.3 (soon to be 3.8.4), but in the update I seem to have lost few things, templates/styles went a little funny etc, but I have fixed most of that now.

For the moment there are two small things I'm trying to fix.

1. Although in the Admin CP or Mod CP you can see the fields for MSN, ICQ Skype etc and the icons show under a users name in the forums, there doesn't appear to be a way for a user to actually enter or modify this information anymore. Is this supposed to be standard functionality or did a previous Admin add this to the forums?

2. There used to be a way for Mods/Admin to click on a users name in a post and jump directly to their respective control panels to the "User Manager" with that particular user open for editing/viewing/banning (;)). How do I integrate these links into the post headers so they are only viewable by mods/admin?

Thanks in advance :D

I am having the EXACT same problem

There used to be a way to ban people without actually having to access the Main Control panel

Now that option vanished

It will be because you are using custom styles.
the locations for certain bits has changed and the user public profile bit has changed loads. If you don't have a style that's designed for v3.8, you will lose access to these

Looking at a default style on my test board does not show any Ban option in the dropdown of the postbit. There is however an option in the profile page to "Edit User Profile" which takes to to their page in the admin cp and you can ban them there.

I think I answered that right above your post.

I understand that

But I do remember there being a Banning option on a users profile before I upgraded

It was probably a mod. I think Sofia wrote something up at one point. Check User CP > Installed Modifications and it should be listed there if you clicked Installed.

Moving back to a virgin style template and starting again fixed my issues, so thanks very much for that James.

I have recoded in most of our options so it's all good again, in fact the upgrade we just did has been very good for me since it forced me to check lots of stuff and simplify a lot of our board. Seems there was lots and lots of manual settings rather than inherited rights in permissions (which were not necessary and hard to manage). Just the result a years of cobling together.

I would still like to get an option in a post to just directly to the "user manager" for that user that is only seen by admin/mods rather than clikcing to go to the profile then clicking to go to the user manager, but I'm still hunting for something along those lines.
