Changing Where the User Name is in Thread.

I was wondering how to change where the user name, avatar, occupation, etc. is changed while viewing a thread? For instance, it shows my name above my the thread content, but some forums have it where it shows it to the left along with the avatar, etc. How do I go about changing that?
