Gaming Clan

hello to all,just though i would pop over and get your opinions and maybe some advice.
i only got v bulletin about 3 month ago and just trying to get used to it.had some very helpfull answers from members here.
my site is an xbox 360 gaming clan and we have just set up really.

any review,help,advice would be great.any mods you think would make the site look,work better then please tell a noob like me.lol

Well I'm not much of a gamer, especially fps which it seems to be based on.

Your icons could to with a bit of a fix to remove the light pixels round the side.

Also, the minimum width is pretty wide so people with small screen resolutions may have a bit of a problem.

Other than that, it's pretty good. Quite a few nice features in there. I especially like the clan links menu. I've never seen that before on a vBulletin site.

I hope I don't appear too critical, I'm just trying to help you improve :)

Maybe you could get some custom or related icons done.

Site is WAY too wide. Its breaking the frame with a screen resolution of 1024X768. It looks like the site was designed for 1284X1024? The width needs to shrink down so that it fits into a 1024 resolution.

Some of the font is a little dark against the black background. One example is the date of the last post on the main page, the font color blends into the background, making it difficult to read.

The left column image is too heavy, its weighing in at 100kb - which is the suggested size for the entire home page.

The header image is 171kb??? Between the left column and the header image your site is almost at 1/4 meg - that is WAY too big. Reduce the resolution or something, but get those image sizes down smaller.

Your site is about gaming? But it looks more like a clan site.

rucruits under "game nights" is spelled wrong.

I have to give your site a C rating at the best. Mainly because of the heavy design, to width is too wide and the lack of gaming categories. It looks like you just installed a custom theme, have not optimized the site and did not put serious consideration into your categories. In other words, it looks like something you just threw together.

I would lose the scrolling news block
Lose the forum stats at the bottom, at least for guests
Remove the donation goal for guests - guests are not going to register to give you money

Way too dark and the top 10 stats is a little overboard might want to look at displaying 5 instead.
