Control first alternating color

I only want to use a color on the column under the Forum and Threads section. As well as when you view topics that the left side is white and that the right side is some other color.
Because it doesn't look good on many places. Like on currently active users section and next to the Forum Contains New Posts icons. So how can I make it only appear on those 3 spots?

I'm not sure exactly what you want, but it sounds like you need to modify the templates to change the color. To find the template to modify, do this - vboptions > General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments > set to Yes . Then go back to your page and view the source code and you will see the name of the template called around your part of the code. Sometimes the template is the one mentioned at the very top of the page source.
