View Full Version : Linked URLs in Poll Options

I used to put up polls with options that are linked to URLs
So I just put the html mark up when I write the text for each options and there was no problem
Today, all of sudden I lost that ability
When I write in html in the poll options it appears as text e.g
<a href="link">text</a>

I did not change any option and I did not add any hack or mod

What happened why did I lost this feature?

By the way the old polls with links are working fine and their links are clickable and working
it's just a new poll I put I just can't link it's options!

See for example the poll I attached to this thread, I purposefully left out the end quatation mark so that the link doesn't work but in my website the link structure is perfectly fine and still can't get it to work

Anyone help please

If it worked 1 day, and not the next, then something must have changed. Find what has changed and you will most likely find the cause of the problem.

You dont do it like that, and never could afaik - you must use url tags, just like you would in posts.

See edited poll ......... :)

I agree with Paul, but I wonder if a forum has HTML enabled, then perhaps you could?

HTML is disabled on my entire site, so I don't know for sure, but perhaps the board you posted the poll in had HTML enabled at the time?

Or maybe having HTML enabled doesn't affect polls... I'm not sure... just an idea that popped in my head.

Yes I know that we can use the tag but with this BB tag you cannot change the text of the link, for example you cannot say [U]click here to see the link

am I right about this?

Oh yes, that was the first thing I thought of, I double checked that html permission is there in all forums and I also check (automatically parse links) when writing those posts
