Hi,

The actual vBulletin templates use many .gif files which I want to customize.

Usually, to customize an image you have to replace this file (ex : image/buttons/addpoll.gif) with another.

But, the file I want to customize is a gif file, and the new is a png file (I tried to convert it but the result is very ugly :( ).

So, must I replace the ".gif" extension with ".png" every where in all the templates? Is there an easier solution?

PS : One file I want to replace is "image/misc/menu_open.gif" but I don't know where it is defined in the code? It seems to be defined in the javascript, but where?

Not really easy, nor quick, you would have to go in and manually update the templates to show the png files

Instead of converting the file, have you tried simply replacing the png extension with gif? That will usually work.

I THINK thats what he meant here but I might be wrong. I know some png's when converted to gif's lose alot of their quality

Could be, but when I see the word 'convert', I think they actually use a program to change the file, not simply change the extension.

Uhhhh.... It's so easy https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/08/25.gif

That will be very useful in the future !

Thanks very very very much :).

"simply replacing the png extension with gif?"
I think in IE browser that will not work

You can always use replacement variables. ;)

El Bingo. I was going to suggest this a while back but got distracted and never replied back.
