Post count question

If a user double-posts, and I merge them, does their post count stay the same?
I.e:
Somebody makes a thread, and their post count is 1
they post again (doublepost) and their post count is 2.
If I merged the 2nd post with the beginning post, does their post count revert to 1 or stay as 2?

If posts are counted in the forum where the post is merged from, then it should subtract 1.
