This is a late-Beta, it has been tested fairly extensively and all the big kinks should be worked out. That said, once this hits more sites a couple other bugs are bound to work themself out. It works going back at least as far as the 3.6 branch of vBulletin, not sure about 3.5.

This is the free version of The Gameroom by http://vbgaming.org, the follow up / expansion of the Casino (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=159151) plugin for vBulletin. It improves the multiplayer gaming aspects by bringing in more games, and allowing users more options when starting and joining games. Included is a upgrade script for transfering your stats from the Casino to the Gameroom.

Updating:
1) Upload the framework files, they should go into the main forum folder with the .swf files folder. You will only need to do this once, which is why they are in a seperate file.
2) Upload the files in the main package, make sure everything overwrites old copies.

** Common Problems **

Non-english letters are not working properly

This is a problem with flash player and has been in there bug tracker for a long time. The workaround is to edit the "gameroom" template, remove the line that ways "wmode='transparent'", the downside it your popup menus will come up behind the flash box, rather then in front of it.

Images are working in IE, but not in Firefox

You likely have some form of image hot linking turned on, it is causing the requests for the images to be blocked.

Locked self out of admin panel

In the tools folder there is a file called 'makemeadmin.php', upload this and go to that page. It will make you admin, don't leave it on your server when you are done.

Updated and it is acting funny

Make sure all of your files are up to date. When you update ensure that all files are overwritten. Having mix matched files will cause funny behaviour. You may also have to clear your cache and reload the page after uploading a new gameroom.swf file.

** Uninstall **
*********************************

If you want to uninstall the following procedure will get you through it without tossing any DB errors:

1) Dissable the product, this shuts down all the plugins. If the files are removed and plugins are still active you may see errors on your site.

2) Undo the template changes, changes where made to the navbar template and the postbit / postbit legacy template.

3) Delete all files. If the files are still present and you remove the database entries by uninstalling the product anyone that attempts to access one of them will cause a error. The Flash Banner could cause many as it could still be making calls after the template changes are undone.

4) Uninstall the product file, which removes all database entries, that means the following are removed:

tables with 'gameroom_' as a prefix

Poker games can use Spread, pot limit or no limit betting. You can set up a stake (players buy in for 100) with a multiplier on it (buy in for 100, multiplier = 100, players play with 10000 chips)

Board games can use time control (Blitz, standard, increment), and optionally the ranking system (ELO)

Betting component can used fixed moneyline odds, rather then just a pool.

Additional games will go into the paid one, but likely not this one.

Nope, the size is fixed so that things stay in the proper place. If you want to give it a try you can edit the dimensions in the gameroom template for the embedded flash file (set to 100%) but it will probably look funny

No, the settings are stored separately.

Your best bet is to do it through the admin tab, but you don't need to export. The export is if you want to export all of your changes and import them somewhere else (ie translating to another language).

Making the change in the language.php file will work, but if the file gets updated you have to make any changes you made again.

The casino I wrote? No, but you probably will want too. You can transfer all your stats over using the included script.

Should work with any field you have in the user table, you can change that in the settings. Change it to "Credits" and that shoudl do it.

For example people were being made to check twice and people never get asked what they want to do (Call, Check, Fold, Raise). Also at one point someone won with a Full House which was only a Two Pair.

But very good job, but I hope the bugs get ironed out shortly.

Also at the end of the game it said I lost when I'd won and might not have updated the tile changes from the final move. Problems too not knowing when your opponent has left the chat and you're still typing away to yourself. If it matters, vb3.7, he was on firefox 3.5, I was on opera 9.64.

Most keyboards now have a key that says Prt Scr (print screen) or just Pt Sc. If you get an error hit Print Screen real quick, then open Paint or the like and click Paste. It's an easy way to grab a quick screen shot for stuff like this.

For example in solo game - blackjack I have 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500. The chips cause you to scroll to see the 500 also.

I fixed the html to work on FF and IE properly. In the 'gameroom' template, the line should read this:

In order to transfer you statistics, betting events and cash from the Casino application upload the "updateCasino.php" file from the tools folder too your forum folder and navigate to the file. Once the process is complete, delete the file from your server.

When you try to beta test it by playing against your self, with two different accounts (same IP address).

Player Admiral
Player Bob

Player Bob had two pairs(won), but Admiral had only one pair(lost).
And the pot went to Admiral.

But admiral was the person to create the game. And Admiral is dealer.
So I am assuming to prevent multiple account plays against each other the IP address
if you are playing against your self, the pot goes to the first person who enters the room with the same IP address?

What happens when people are within the same LAN of the IP address?????

You have to change the value in red and not pink

Some may get confused by it as, the pink is commented out. And it has to be your user ID and not the USERGROUP id.

Yes, although you could keep your settings and just copy and paste the new piece in, which is at the bottom and is the "use____" switchs for all the tabs. Once it hits a 1.0 release the settings will be done in a more upgrade friendly way.

Also same problem running 0.9.6. You make a game and label it - ie Chess - called test, the chess game board opens and it says empty/empty. Using another account log in and nothing shows for the chess game on the game board yet it does show both users on. Same with reversi.

Yes, they should be negative, but they probably shouldn't be getting displayed as negatives.

Also there is a style issue when play black jack, the total cash amount and bet, seems to over lap the images. Image is below

Moderators will likely gain that ability at some point, but right now its just by usertype.

Can you provide a little more details on the error you are getting? As I understand the security token relates only to post requests, which this doesn't make.

If you are worried about them just disable the banner plugins, they are then only things that make any requests at all on pages outside the gameroom.

Single outcome only, or a draw.

Next question is, does the chat room have a log?

Not in a terribly useful way. The table gameroom_chatlog stores everything, but it is flushed nightly and there isn't really a convenient way to get at it.

Ok, real quick, a couple of suggestions.

A repeat bet button, not a big deal, but saves some clicks.

Also, more visible feedback when you win. I don't have sounds on and while playing I only see a the tiny text of "win".

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but the sorting in the stats doesn't work correctly, it appears to be alphabetically, not numerically. If I sort the luckiest players by percentage... I get these values at the top

They just don't show up often, they will be a little more frequent next update. But right now once the game starts they are gone. It should (and is in my working copy) that they are there whenever a player doesn't have any cards. From folding or sitting out.

Int has a 2 billion limit, uint has a 4 billion limit. But that is the problem, using the cash system I implemented with it users would be unlikely to ever hit a million, 2 billion would be pretty much impossible.

With numbers that big I think you would be seeing some layout problems as well. I'll have a look and see if there is anything that can be done with this, but your credit values are definitely over what this was designed for

Yup, your not getting a response from the backend. Try uploading the php again, if you made any changes to the settings file that could also cause that if there was a syntax error in what you changed.

- Added a 'safety net' to board games, should help prevent dropped games (was already in place for poker)
- avatars in poker are used more frequently
- Language usage fix for certain phrases
- Fixed bug in betting payout when using 'pool' betting
- Fixed a bug where occasionally if the dealer dropped a new dealer would not be assigned properly
- Fixed a bug where the stats would record a bet multiple times, throwing the numbers off
- Fixed total score phrase in reversi, was just showing numbers, not the phrases that explained them

That should clean up all the known issues.

Just ran a check on your site and everything is working fine in FF, after which I ran a check on my site and everything seemed to be working ok, then it dropped the images again. I was still using the same FF browser, never refreshed it or closed it I'll apply the latest update and have my FF using members run through things to see if there is still an issue. I had several members tell me yesterday and this morning that they can't use most of the gameroom features in FF because of this issue. I'm using VBulletin 3.83 along with VBadvanced 3.2 if that makes any difference............keeping my fingers crossed:)

settings are not in the admin tab yet, just the settings.php file.

help popups are in the /gameroom/rules folder, they don't really fit into a single line edit. Just be sure you don't overwrite them with a update ;)

The part you add to the navbar is a variable containing the html needed to embed the flash file, or to add the html table, depending on which plugin you have turned on. Are you seeing anything where the banner should be?

Cash won't show anywhere, unless you add it to the postbit, then it will show their. Just make sure you are editing the proper postbit.

Can I specify a vb variable (like bgcolor) that will grab the proper color from a style, or am I forced to be limited to one color regardless of style inside the css?

what needs to be replaced in the already installed Gameroom, for the minor bug fix's. I hope not to have to reinstall all of it. A list of what to upload and over write would be helpful. For the time being I have embedded the Chess vs PC Flash game until I can get with you on how to add to the game room, or at least an icon to redirect to the 3D flash Game, provided it's feasible and Possible. :)

Otherwise, this is REALLY neat.

No detection of multiple themes, it's a single setting. Likely wouldn't be terribly hard for you to implement, just a "if...else if" chain in the settings file would do that.

Andrew a few bugs i found. I just installed the 0.9.7 version. I had 6 of my friends and we started a poker game but it was messed up first hand i had aces and my friend had aces. 2nd hand two people had pocket aces again. i have a screenshot of it because they both had ace of hearts and ace of spade both of them so we quit playing.. i just played my friend in chess and i had him in check and he did the king counter(roshee) or however u spell it while he was in check and that isn't allowed.

I'm having issues with this plugin. Every 5 minutes while this is enabled it causes the posts table to have to be marked as crashed and therefore needs to be repaired. Am I alone on this one?

It doesn't touch the posts table... are you sure this is the cause?

Yes. When I change the setting useVB to false the problems stop.

I understand it's a beta version but it seem there is a lot of work to do.
It crash (freeze) after few minutes of playing in poker for now.
When you start a new game in poker with 2 players we always have the sames cards, one with 2 aces and the other 2 queens and a five.
when making a new game, it's take few minutes before the other player see it and sometime the game disappear from the list.
In chess, we never can start the game.
In IE 8 the game appear in the upper left corner of a big grey square, in IE 7 and Firefox it's ok.
i run the last version downloaded this afternoon.
It'a super nice game, hope it will work fine sometime.

Any sports event. Let's say I'm positive A particular sports team is going to beat another. I want to be able to enter and/or select an amount of vbcredits I am willing to bet. Then I want to be able to place a limit on the amount of people who accept the bet. That would allow me to choose if I want to do a one on one bet. Selecting more than one for this option would either split the amount amongst my opponents if they win, or they are each given the amount I bet. Of course I would have to be able to select that as an option.

Would be nice to also be able to invite/challenge someone to a bet. A thread could be posted in a forum of my choice with the title "x has challenged y".

Settings can now be changed through the plugin, rather then the settings file.
Blackjack has a surrender option,
Board games should be a little lighter on the CPU
few other bug fixes

If after updating you have any problems let me know :)

There is a setting that lets you select the field used for cash. Everything it does uses that field.

You where one of 4 that got that one before I fixed it I think ;)

the bigger one should be gameroom.swf
the smaller one should be GameroomBanner.swf

gameroomBasic.swf is a testing name, as I have gameroom.swf as the paid version. I renamed the wrong one to gameroom.swf :(
