Next to "Help others by rating the.......(Name Of Hack)

How about............"Help others by rating the help received"

This might not be a great topic amoungst the upper class, however there are lots of great hacks that people would like to use and give feedback. If they can't get help, whats the use....?

How bout a detailed description of installation (boiler plate with changes)..

This might encourage the coders to help those a little less fortunate that download the hacks instead of blowing them off......:(

Thanks

Might that however be a tad difficult because most modification topics have like, hundreds of posts and different members helping people out with different stuff and asking questions, and the ratings might not be greatly representative of the help given as a whole from everyone? But it's an interesting idea.

While I Do agree that the coders are doing a great service and are greatly appreciated; I have seen many posts about the same hack without any answers to questions usally followed by "Uninstalled". I for one get fustrated when a question may or may not be answered weeks later. I find the hack coder is usally not the person answering the question but instead a good samaritian passing by is the one answering. Unfortunatly some of the people here (including myself) are not as well versed as others.

Thank you in advance if you are not one of these people.

Now the next question is, is that hack marked as "Supported"?

Yes it is marked supported.

For some that have limited knowledge it would be nice to know before they spend the time to install, have problems, and not get solutions. I for one would have skipped over the hack if I had known.

Do you read through the posts before installing? Chances are, if you read through the posts, you will see the kind of support/problems people receive.

Yes but another thing about this type of thing is people post a question and want the answer then and there - they don't want to wait another day or two for the coder to look into the code to find a solution and normally after that other people post questions and so the first person feels the need to write his/her question again seem a new page in the forum has been started!

Some people are just impatient and if we had this type of rating system then people will abuse it and when they don't have their answer within 2 minutes of posting they will then post a bad review.
