How come evertime i goto a thread and were the downlaod thing is why does it almost always say

Or
This modification is archived and cannot be downloaded.

i can only get a few to work

Those are usually older modifications (I think typically vB 3.0 and under, maybe?) that might not even work for your version of vB. Try browsing the forum for your particular version (or close to it). Or, when searching, filter to the forum(s) for the version numbers that you want.

Though, I do wish they were downloadable too just so I could peek at how some of them worked. Not that I'd ever try to use one of them on a live board.
