Yeap, it's true :p
Why?
Ok, I have added mods as an add-on before in one of my mod threads and it worked...
For some reason I try to add Dj's mod as an add-on to my mod here --> https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=216978
And it just will not show?
I've tried full url but it will not stick, when I give just the thread id it stays but will not display.
So, what have I forgotten here or will an admin take a sneak peak so I know I have not lost it... yet :D
Thanks!!

Have you tried asking for support in the thread for that modification?

My thread so I can edit the settings and enter in the URL or did you mean something else? I can edit it and enter in whatever but basically it does not like the FULL url so I said well it's been a while maybe it JUST needs the thread id i.e. the number as that will stay in the input box but nothing ever displays. So in that thread I want it to show Add-On's near the end of the mod post.
So should I bug someone, I just thought it better to bug someone by posting then PM my favorite vb.org staff member Lynne :p (hey Lynne ;)). So let me know Redline I just wanted to make sure I'm not losing it cause this is something rather simple but it just won't display!?!?

Ok, yeah, I'm losing it and I'm not even tired. You're trying to add an "Add-On for thread" link to the modification thread?

Redline lol, all I want to do is list another mod as an add-on to mine ;) it's that simple yet it won't let me do it!!! :erm:
So view this mod of mine --> https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=193822
Scroll down in the mod's very first post and see it lists my newer mod as an add-on, now I know I need to change that but glad it was still there for me to show you. So basically I want to give it the url or the thread id # or whatever it needs so DJ's mod will be listed in MY mods thread as an add-on.

I'm not sure I totally understand or know the answer since I've never entered anything as an addon, but I believe you want to hit Edit Settings for the mod and then you can enter the threadid for the add-on. Maybe.... hopefully.... ?

I know ;) it's been forever for me too.. I tried the full url but it would not go, when I did just the thread id # it stays but will not display... also I tried to edit one of my first mods w/ an add-on listed yet it still has the add-on listed but nothing in the box i.e. it's clear waiting for you to enter in any additional add-on thread id's. You guys/gal mind asking someone higher up... I'm stumped unless I'm simply entering it in wrong :erm: lol.
Thanks for trying to help :D

Maybe I can try it and see.
You want to add an add-on to this thread - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=216978 What thread do you want to add to it as the add-on (a link to the thread would be nice)?

Thank you Lynne!
This is what I would like to list as an Add-On as DJ has done the same for me in regards to his mod ;) located here:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=184136
It should be listed as an add-on for my mod here:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=216978
Also I have this same problem (or oversight on my part :p) with the same mod I released for 3.7 and 3.6 but wanted to confirm if it was me or something else before raining on your parade of daily errors :D
Let me know, I'll keep an eye open to this thread.
Thanks again!

Um.... uh.... weird! I can't figure this one out. I look through the settings on his mod and can't find where he input the thread ids. I'm a bit stumped. Maybe I can get Paul or another mod to help out on this.

I KNOW :D :p it's killing me softly lol...
I can see it retains JUST the id # when inputted but will not display it, DJ added mine fine but I cannot get it to work no matter what I try... It will show the Add-Ons listed like in DJ's but will not retain the code unless it's just the id number which is what confused me.. for example I went into an older mod I released that had an add-on listed i.e. my Ranks Mod I listed the Awards Mod as an add-on even though technically it's not but it's similar but enough of that point being I edited it via edit settings and the field for any add-on thread ID was empty so the DB already read it, said ok this is an add-on now clear the input box for the next entry however in that new mod if I enter just the thread ID it stays when you go back to edit it, I noticed that when going wtf naturally :p.
I'll be here, you know me I lurk here lol.
Thanks again!

Here's the deal. There is nothing in your modification that will set this up. This has to do with his modification (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=184136). In Edit Settings, there is a spot called:
Addon for thread: [ ] (Threadid of the original Modification)
Pay attention to the bolded part. By you entering his modification in yours there, you are claiming yours as the addon and his as the original. What you want is the opposite. This is altered in his modification.
Now, the question is, have you worked this out with Digital Jedi? If not, this will be reverted.

Yes I contacted him via PM, he added mine as an add-on and I was going to do the same since his deals directly w/ posbit_legacy and the posting part of the code and mine was made just for sigs for use in not only posbit_legacy but posbit as well. However DJ's mod was first and my mod should only be listed as an add-on :D not the other way around as that would be kind of rubbing off some of his credit based on how the system is setup I suppose and I could just leave a link to his mod in the post... Possible to review and consider each coder allowed to input add-ons for more shared credit and "respect" if the one coder has yours listed? I mean when you all go to 4.0 here that is? Just a thought but thanks and if need be change his back to where MY mod is simply the add-on.
Thanks David, as we admins on TGW say from time to time, You DA Man!
