CND Garage - Timeslips

Description
CND Garage Timeslips is a garage/timeslip add on for vbulletin. Although it looks like phpbbgarage this is NOT a port, it is 100% my own code. I just modeled the layout to look like it.
Users can add as many vehicles, timeslips and images that the admin allows. The admin can define the amounts per site or per usergroup. Images are stored in the filesystem and thumbnails are automatically created as the image is uploaded.

Main Features

No vb template modification needed (except to add link to navigation/community)
Ajax driven menu's to keep load time down for very large lists of makes/models
Button images are attached to style so that each style can have their own images
99.9% of the text is phrased so that it can be translated for multinational sites
User's vehicles shown in their profile (vb 3.7+)
vboption used for type of garage, to help aid in change it from a car to a motorcycle, atv, etc garage system
Easily import data from vbgarage

Installation
Instructions, tips and more are now in the online documentation as well as an included chm file.
Both are linked in the read me file.

The garage is developed on vb 3.8.3 and tested back to 3.7.0. The garage will run on PHP 4.4.7+ compiled with GD/GD2 and MySQL 4.1.x+

I am currently working on an importer for the old timeslips database.

Additional options for the garage like dyno charts, modifications and lots more are included in the commercial version at CND Systems (http://www.cnd-systems.com/cnd_garage.php)

Added
The vba_vehicle_display.xml is a vbadvanced module to add a verticle column with vehicles, can be either latest vehicles, random vehicles or the featured vehicle. Once imported you can modify the module to change the number of vehicles displayed. This only works with the 2.x series.
The forum_home_2_0_2.xml file is a vb product which will display garage images on your forum home page. It has options for the location and number of images which is set through the ACP vboptions section. This only works with the 2.x series.
The postbit_user_garage-1_4_1.xml is a vb product which will add a link to the user garage in the postbit. Configure this on the Garage General Settings vboptions tab.

Yes, there are 2 settings in the vboptions, one is for the singular, ie Motorcycle, and one for the plural, ie Motorcycles. Change those and everything in the garage, besides the buttons, will change from Vehicle to Motorcycle. I have the button blanks included (photoshop) if you want to change those as well.

I had purchased the full version. It was too much of what I didn't want and too little of what I did want. Of course, to each his own.

I only want the track times, nothing else. Something light with only one purpose.

This version isn't really setup to do lap times. It's possible, but you would need to edit the phrases, hide some fields from the template and use some plugins to add some other fields that can hold text. Bit more involved then what your looking for though I think.

It is a stand alone version of the garage that has vehicles and timeslips. It doesn't have the businesses, dynos, laptimes, etc.

I see you logged on, the system is hidden in the default style, under the community menu, it's not available in the on the menu on the default style, regular users don't have access to it yet, I'll set you up a test account to try out.

I am getting the following error: "You have reached the maximum amount of vehicles allowed"
I am using a brand new user in a brand new user group who has never entered a vehicle.
There are 3 vehicles in the database.

I see Dylan has released a new version, and said he found the error while working on your forum. Does the new version fix the error? If not, make sure your new usergroup has the appropriate permissions to add a vehicle.

For those that run into problems with not having permission to add vehicles or images...

If you use the Advanced Usergroup Permissions, you only need to add the groups that will be allowed access to create in the garage. If the group does not have permissions setup then the garage assumes they aren't allowed to do anything but view.

It should work as least restrictive, meaning if you are in two groups, the best access from those 2 groups will apply to you. From the testing on bposner's forum it looks like it's working the opposite. I'll try and find what's going on with that.

I was working with him through PM's :)

He had every group with permissions, 3/4 of them set to No and 0. Once he removed the ones that weren't going to have access it's working for those that do. Just need to test and find out why it started working like that.

The featured vehicle will show on the front garage page if you set the vboptions to use the featured. There is only 1 at a time, it will clear the old one when you set a new one.

If you are thinking about doing it let me know and I'll put more effort into the script. Right now all my free time is going into enhancements since no one has asked about upgrading :)

Since your site just deals with mustangs I would of just created the one make of ford and the models under it instead of importing the whole vehicle list. Bit of an after thought, but if you ever need to rebuild it's something to think about :)

There were some sites that run only 1/8 tracks so they asked me to give them the option to get rid of the 1/4 mile stuff. You sure you don't keep track of the 1/8 time? Most timeslips have that time and if you run a 1/8 mile track you won't have a 1/4 mile time to enter.

It can be removed with some file edits. If you want to do it let me know and I'll figure out what needs to be modified.

Sorry about that, thought I had it fixed.
On garage.php at Line 436 you'll see

unset($image_id);
unset($vehicle_img_data);

After that add

unset($row_img_exists);

I'm not sure about the no owner thing. I'll check and see if I can recreate it.

The biggest request I am getting is the ability of the script to auto downsize images that are larger than the set limits. Is that possible?

I've been working on it. The problem is that gd is a big fat hog heh. It's ok for making small thumbnails, but you want to make a 800x600 image and a thumbnail and it will grind the server to a halt. I'm looking into work around for it and also implementing imagemagick support, which processes images a hell of a lot better.

Ok I attached an image of an error. A user was uploading his vehicle info and when he clicked to submit it he was directed back to the login page. Maybe due to a timeout because he took so long to add the info. The vehicle showed up as having no owner.

Ah thanks, that makes sense now. I didn't understand how the no owner vehicles were being created. I was just checking to make sure they had permissions and an id when they go to add the vehicle, but not after submit. Since their session timed out, they were submitted at userid 0.
I'll fix that right now and post it up :)

This is a great mod and glad to see it. But, I'm having a few problems installing it on 3.8.1 When I upload all the files and go to Plugins/Products, manage product > add/import product and I choose the garage xml file all seems to go well with no errors. After the install I now have *[garage_settings]* on my lefthand admin cp and inside it, there's *[garage_make]*, etc. When I click on garage_manage, I only have 2 OK buttons. Any help is greatly appreciated!

With next release it will be possible. Right now the only way to do it is manually modify code. If you feel comfortable with doing that then I have the changes needed posted on my forum. I can pull it out into a text file and send it to you. Let me know.

We are using 1.0.0 and want to upgrade, which according to instructions have to do basically a full install. My concern is, we removed all makes and models except for our specific theme, and was wondering if this upgrade will add all those makes and models back to the database?
We only left the Mustang makes and models.

Don't run the xml that says new install only. That is the one that puts all the makes and models in there. If you dont run that then it will leave your current makes/models :)

Question for you. I have an off road vehicle website. Most of the vehicles are custom built "tube chassis" type of rigs. Is there something that would allow users to write in their vehicle description, or is there only a list of pre defined vehicles to choose from (such as mustang, camaro, acura, etc)?

Don't run the xml that says new install only. That is the one that puts all the makes and models in there. If you dont run that then it will leave your current makes/models :)

Question for you. I have an off road vehicle website. Most of the vehicles are custom built "tube chassis" type of rigs. Is there something that would allow users to write in their vehicle description, or is there only a list of pre defined vehicles to choose from (such as mustang, camaro, acura, etc)?

If I go to acp>cnd garage>usergroup permissions and try to change anything on any user group, I get this error

On the second issue, do you have the garage images folder permissions set correctly? The folder needs to have write access in order to move the image from the temp upload folder to the garage image folder.

As far as the permissions go, I'll wait for Dylan to answer. I have been running the pro version for over a year now (?), and I still get confused about the usergroup permissions...

From the script reference it looks like you are trying to add permissions?
If you want to edit a permission group, there are two icon's you select from to edit/delete a groups permissions.

If you are trying to add a groups permissions, there is a bug that will be fixed in the next release. You select a group, say Registered Users, and click Add Permissions. When the next screen comes up, no mater what you selected on the previous, it will show the COPPA group. Just select the proper group again and it will work fine.

Yeah, the problem with timeslips is that they are pretty tall images.
You could change the code on that block so that it limits by height instead.

But when entered into the TS garage, it rounds them to R/T: 0.33" (only goes to the hundredths)

We have a lot of members with 0.0047 and 0.0042 Reaction times. Is there anyway you can have all the timeslip information go to the 0.0000 = ten thousandths?

Also is there a way to remove the "vehicle of the month" after you have put it on a user?

You know, I didn't think about removing it heh. I'll put that in there. Right now, when you select someone else for VOTM it removed it from the last one.
On the TS, I thought they went out 3 places. Rounding it to 2 was a mistake for when the data is displayed, it does store the data as 3 places out. I'll make it go to 4 and upload the new files.

Fixed the timeslips issue. I also added the ability to remove the VOTM and Featured Vehicle.

In the ACP, under the CND Garage left menu pane you can change the sort order. The problem with adding the user to that block is there is a lot of data in it and everything would get squished. But if you want it I can give you directions on what to edit :)

If it's a new install, you might have another mod that is taking care of CSRF protection. You can go to the ACP and disable it on my mod.
ACP -> vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> Garage General Settings
Set CSRF Protection to disabled

The uninstall doesn't delete any tables/data so you would uninstall the product, move the commercial files over and install the upgrade from free script. This will modify the tables to match the commercial product.

I did it this way so I could get rid of all the vb templates/phrases/plugins/etc while retaining the data.

Did everything get moved into the clientscripts folder? I use ajax for the dropdowns and that's where the ajax files are. That's the only time I've seen it not work is if the files aren't there.

I some how lost the ability to edit my garage or post a time slip. What did I screw up?

The button that says 2006 Mustang had an arrow with editing choices last night. I deleted my first vehicle then re-entered again. Now the little triangle is gone and when I click on 2006 mustang it brings me back to the forum.


Any Ideas.

If you view your vehicle there are option buttons to edit and delete each timeslip.

It might be because you have 32M for processing and it was a large image. If you keep running into that problem you can switch it in the ACP so that it will limit the size of the image allowed instead of resizing it.

Would I be able to get ftp access to the test server? It's like it's losing the variable command that tells it your submitting a timeslip and just does nothing. I checked the code I can see from the submit page and it works on my local dev system.

The link SVTCobraLTD provided is only for commercial users, it was developed by a user and posted on my site, but I can re-release it since it's not my work. I do have a vba front page random vehicle image module I can give you though. I'll add it to my mod here.

It will only work as both. You can remove the Main, Browse and search pages and have it default to the Timeslips page. But the vehicle records are required for the timeslips to operate correctly.

It's probably something to do with the permissions. Are you using the basic permissions or the advanced permissions? Make sure you have the right selection on the Garage General Settings tab. If you want to pm me temp admin access I can check it out for you.

I don't think there are any issues with upgrading from the 3.8.x version to the 4.0.x version. There will be some configuration changes to make because there are new enhancements in the 4.0.x version that I'm not doing in the 3.8.x one.

One more thing... I'm noticing some strange inconsistencies with the timeslips... On my timeslip creation & edit pages, it lists 1/8 and 1/4 mile speeds as 'KPH'. Viewing the timeslip itself, it's listed as MPH. However on the 'Top Timeslips', it also lists speed as KPH. As far as I can tell the speed should only be listed in MPH.

I'll take a look. I'm not doing any more dev on the 3.8.x version but I'm sure I can find the fix for it.

I didn't add the featured or VOTM parts until the vB4 version for the free script. I'm not developing the free vB3 one anymore as it's too much work to maintain 4 versions.

The paid version has vehicle modifications that tie to a business directory inside the script, dyno runs, clubs, events, fuel tracking and laptimes that can be tied to tracks.

When is it showing the blank page? When you try to add, when you try to edit, when you try to view?

Sounds like either people are hitting the page from search engine links or something like that. You should remove the garage php files from the server and you wont get the db errors anymore.

If you get a 500 error it will usually generate a log with the actual error that is happening. Either it will be in cPanel logs or it could create a error.log file in the directory with the problem. Just depends on the server setup and error that's happening

Yes I bought 1.0.1 I believe right when it came out.
Then I installed this update on top of it, replacing all the old files with the new ones, and deleting the old files that are no longer needed.
Ran the product, it imported correctly and I see 2.0 in my admin control panel.
I can turn it off and I see it off, but when I turn it on I see 500 error.

I have a dedi server so i can get anything.
I don't see an error.log file in the forums directory or the public_html directory.
I went to my var/log/apache2
and limited my viewing to only garage.php files and this is what I see.

I believe the problem is because you originally had the full version installed then went to the lite. You need to delete some records from a configuration table.

If you login to phpmyadmin or some other mysql interface you can run this command to remove them. If you have a table prefix then replace <db_prefix> with that prefix, like if you have a prefix of vb_ it will be vb_garage_blocks

DELETE FROM <db_prefix>garage_blocks WHERE func_name IN ('new_mod', 'latest_mod', 'most_modified', 'most_spent', 'dyno', 'laptime', 'latest_service', 'top_mpg', 'low_mpg');Let me know if that fixes it or if you get a different error after that.

MySQL Error : Table 'rob.garage_views' doesn't exist



I have no problem buying the latest version of this product that works for Vb 3.8.X.

I just saw this one night and realized how old my version was.........


Let me know the best way to proceed.
Should I uninstall this mod then reinstall it?

Did you run the installer? The garage_views table gets installed with version 1.4, sounds like you still have some of the old version running.
With the newer version it also moves the images to different folders, so if you have them all in the images/garage/attach folder with no subfolders, the upgrade didn't get done.
If you want to give me access I can check it out and see what's going on. Otherwise let me know what version it shows it's at. If it shows that it's the latest, edit the product, set the version back to 1.0 and save it, then run the install script again.

I haven't done anything since 'the upgrade' besides the sql query i ran that you posted earlier.

Sounds like you tried to upload an image that was larger than your php memory limit.

Which version are you using? You're posting on both the vB3 and vB4 threads, confusing :)

The files should go in whatever directory the forum files are in. If your forum files are in the root then all the garage files go in the root. If they're in /forum/ then all the files go in /forum/

You know, I didn't think about removing it heh. I'll put that in there. Right now, when you select someone else for VOTM it removed it from the last one.
On the TS, I thought they went out 3 places. Rounding it to 2 was a mistake for when the data is displayed, it does store the data as 3 places out. I'll make it go to 4 and upload the new files.

Using VB version 3.8.7 with the latest zip files, my timeslips are still rounding to .00 instead of .0000 <-ten thousandths

What file needs to be edited?

This is only happening on the front page of the garage. When you go to the actual timeslip it shows ten thousandths. Only on the front page, the "block," is rounded up.

I use CND Garage Forum Home addon on my forum. It works perfectly but i need a modification. Because of my forum is all about only one brand (Bmw), its not good to see other car brand's pictures on forum home. Because some of our members have more than one car and these cars re different brands and models. so how may i change this option that i could only see Bmw garage photos on forum home. If someone help me with this i really appreciate it.

Thanks for your suggestion but i don't want to remove other models either. I only need for a modification for Forum Home Garage Album plugin. If i can move other models except BMWs for not showing on forum home template then my problem will be solved. :)

I think there might be some changes necessary for the gfm_picture template. But i am not a coder so i don't know how to change it for the specifications that i need.
