Hello vB hackers,
pleeease help.
I really want to move some variables to the header, but couldn't figure it out myself.
Here's the thread I initially opened:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20713
I really would appreciate any help as I don't get along.
My board looks pretty awkward with the blank space at the top, I want to fill this up...
Thanks a bunch :)

I filled the space with some banner ads, but
would prefer to move the welcometext and login-boxes up there...
Is this that hard to do?
I have no idea...
Thanks,
-Tom

The main concept here is to find the PHP code which uses these functions, and move it to your global.php file. This will make the variables available in all your templates. However, this may slightly reduce performance, which is why everything isn't in global.php in the first place.
Do a search for golbal.php and variables - there have been plently of questions about this sorta thing. Hope this is of some help. :)

thanks Martz for answering.
Unfortunately I didn't manage to redo the mentioned examples, I understand roughly what I got to do - but I simply don't get it working...
Damn - I hate it when software controls me and not the other way 'round.
I find it a hard for newbies to code that and honestly I don't fully understand why moving the welcometext e.g. 1 inch up could be such a hassle...
plus the performance reductions you mentioned.
Maybe I should post a suggestion.
thx,
-Tom
