What does boring have to do with looking for a host?

To be honest there are no "Good" free web hosts out there. You are better of paying for one a cheap one if you don't want to be spending loads.

Using a free one can sometimes get abit annoying when the server keeps going down and you have no one to talk to when you have a problem with your account and there is no live support.

I was wondering the same thing What does boring have to do with a hosting company?

a "good" free web host won't let you run vB at all.
for security reasons, a "good" free web host will have all scriptable extensions (cgi, perl, pl, php4, php5, php, php3, etc) disabled. Why? Because it is just too much of a risk to allow free clients to use those applications.

Spend the $10-$20/month, get yourself a real host and domain.

I tried at least 20 and have to agree that majority suck.
There are just two I use right now:
www.700megs.com ( after a year with them, still pretty great with 99.5% uptime & no ads)
www.FreeHostKing.com (not so great lately, slow support)

If you have great faith in your project and if you highly value your site I would suggest a paid host
