vBulletin 3.8.3

Although it's a little late according to the published release timetable (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=273299), having been somewhat delayed by the effort being redirected toward preparing vBulletin 4.0 for its debut, vBulletin 3.8.3 is a maintenance version, rounding up all the bugs and issues fixed by the development team since the release of 3.8.2 (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=304335) at the end of March.

Please accept our apologies for the delay in bringing you this potentially final version of vBulletin 3.x. Resources are now almost exclusively dedicated to vBulletin 4.0 and we thank you for your ongoing patience.

Issues resolved by 3.8.3 include the following:
Date picker in private message filter ignores start of week preference [27516 (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/project.php?issueid=27516)]
Last post title on profile page allows permission violation [27548 (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/project.php?issueid=27548)]
Potential for redundant SQL query when searching for posts [27575 (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/project.php?issueid=27575)]
List of members in social groups has no specified ordering [27636 (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/project.php?issueid=27636)]
Potential timezone confusion affecting statistics generation and display [27586 (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/project.php?issueid=27586)]
Inability to search for users with a specified custom field by entering text [27610 (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/project.php?issueid=27610)]A complete list of the issues resolved by 3.8.3 is available in the Project Tools. (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/project.php?s=&do=issuelist&projectid=6&sortfield=&sortorder=&issuetypeid=bug&appliesversionid=v107&issuestatusid=4)

Upgrading from Previous Versions

3.8.3 is a maintenance release. We recommend that all customers running prior versions of vBulletin 3.8 upgrade to benefit from bug fixes and stability improvements.

Full instructions for upgrading vBulletin are available here. (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/../docs/html/upgrade)

PHP and MySQL Requirements

Please note that vBulletin 3.8.x requires at least PHP 4.3.3 and MySQL 4.0.16 or later.

However, we recommend that vBulletin 3.8.x is run on PHP 5.2.9 with APC (or a similar opcode cache) and MySQL 5.1.32 for best performance and stability.

Download vBulletin 3.8.3

As usual, vBulletin 3.8.3 is available for all customers with valid, active licenses to download from the vBulletin Members' Area.

Viewing control panel logs no longer works. Not sure why, but they worked before updating to 3.8.3. I get some weird header output and then says:

Access Denied, you have been logged.

Thoughts? Similar experiences?

Is the vBulletin.com Members area down? I get a blank page when I go to http://members.vbulletin.com/ instead of a normal logon prompt.

UPDATE: It is working now.

for some reason upgrade did not go as smooth as i hoped for me :(
i opened a ticket about it.
i have during upgrade on header this line:

>>>==================*/ ?> >>>

and during upgrade installer says to me:

Your vBulletin (3.8.3) does not appear to be running the version that was downloaded (3.8.2).

EDIT: now upgrade complete :)
It was "Transfer Mode" fault. It seems when it was set to AUTO, ftp program messed up files during upload.
Support advised me to set transfer to ASCII mode. So I did and it solved the matter for me.
Now everything working fine :)

Were there any template edits? I didn't see the message - just wanted to make sure.

Right, but what I meant was I didn't have to update anything manually correct? Other than running the update.

possible bug? Everytime I try to upload a new BB Code, I am getting this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare handle_bbcode_video() (previously declared in /home/content/m/d/e/mdelcour201/html/forums/includes/class_bbcode.php(2463) : eval()'d code:24) in /home/content/m/d/e/mdelcour201/html/forums/includes/class_bbcode.php(2463) : eval()'d code on line 24

Even when I try to upload BB Codes that I know work.
