So I just finished migrating to a new server...

I have a small forum located at getdistracted.com

The server is not sending out any email what so ever.

I tried creating a mail account for the domain and adding it to the vbulletin options -> email options and it didn't work. I contacted the server's technical helpdesk, and they feel it is a software configuration which they cannot support.

Help! What could be the problem?!

--------------- Added 1244387556 at 1244387556 ---------------

I am being kind of broad here...

I followed the instructions here (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/troubleshoot_email) and I am still having no luck.

I am getting no errors, it says it completes successfully... yet I get no emails on any of the 5 accounts I registered for testing. I also have fun the email diagnostics on my own personal account and I am seeing no emails.

What should I check?

I read something about php.ini being a possible culprit... but I can't seem to find that file anywhere in any of my site files. Suggestions?

You need to check your server logs, if this is a dedicated/vps server, check /var/log/ mail log file, as systems vary by many factors, the mail log can have any number of names.

If its a shared vhost server, email/call your host.

Well even if it is a servage server, that dont tell anyone if its a vps/dedicated or a shared vhost server?

If your host knows what the issue is, then tell them to fix it or tell you what exactly the issue is.

You will get the same response at vB.com. Without the exact error message as in the logfile, they can not help you with something that is most likely a server config issue.
