Search Question

I have a question about the search

Is there an element of the search which I can use to do this..if I wanted to be redirected to the first result on a search doing something like...

http://www.mysite.com/forum/search.php?var=foo&anothervar=foo2&query=something+to+search

Is that possible? If not is there something I can do to make this possible?

I would guess you would have to do some code modification (not plugins) to make that possible unless you create your own do=yourvar and have a whole new do section that ends with a redirect to a thread, instead of the search page.
