members only bbcode

Hi,

I am looking for a bbcode mod that will allow users to make part of their posts visible to logged in users only.

For example:

content in here is only viewable to logged in members

Try Abe1's Advanced BBCode Permissions (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=122942&highlight=advanced+code+permissions) mod

This hack will give you advanced control on BBCode. You will be able to define for each usergroup what BBCode they may or may not use. This hack works for both standard AND custom BB code!

Works on 3.82.

Hmm not sure if that will do what I am looking for blaize.

I am looking for a new bbcode that works as such.

When making a post a user can put part of his post in the new tag so that only members logged in can see that part of the post.

Does that make any sense?

Yes it does NeverStop but I use the Advanced BB Code Permissions mod to do just that.

I created a simpler spoiler tag and using Abe's mod to not allow guests/unregged to use it. They see the spoiler show button but nothing happens when they click it so it's obvious there's hidden content in the post.

Well it doesnt seem to work for me.

I installed the advanced bbcode mod, and checked "no" for my spoiler tag. But when I was logged out i was able to click the "show" button and view the content

Make sure you select NO for unregged usergroup in the advanced BB Code Permissions mod and if necessary clear your browser cache and cookies to make sure your board sees you as logged out or use a different browser to check.

Not sure where the original spoiler code came from but I hacked it a bit to do what I wanted it to do.

Also make sure you select Yes when it asks you in each usergroup setting if you want to use the mod or allow default BB permissions for that usergroup.

Well I dunno what I could be doing wrong here.

Do you want to turn on Advanced BBCode for this Usergroup? is set to yes.

All radio buttons are clicked yes except for my new bbcode. But as a guest (using a diff browser even) I can still view the "hidden content"

Are you using a mod to make members reply before they can download content? If so i don't know if that might interfere with the advanced bb code permissions mod.

i cant view your hidden content, seems to be working on your site.

Yes i have a mod that requires people to post to see hidden content.

It's possible that the 'post to view' mod is interfering with the 'advanced bb code' one but you could also try rebuilding the post cache in maintenance/update counters to see if that makes any difference.

If the 'post to view' product and plugin code is active it might affect any conflicting mods board wide though so you could try disabling the ''post to view' mod and see if the 'advanced bb code' one works for you then.

Still no luck after disabling the hide hack and rebuiliding the post cache.

I must be doing something wrong
