I've been toying with this one for about a month or so, opened a few weeks back, and it's slowly picking up pace and progress. Looking for reviews, what I can do to make it better as it were, obviously.

Those aren't google ads, read through them again, however, the site has to pay for itself somehow. I could have done much, much worse, but those ads are very tastefully placed (after every 5th post, every 5th forum, every 5th thread, and at the top). This leads to maybe 4 ads per page when browsing the actual threads and posts, and 4 on the front forum, which is quite reasonable.

I don't think it's very visually appealing. Not that the design's bad, it's very clean and easy on the eye, but I don't think it fits your forum's subject matter. There's not really anything tv about it. Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not sure what the big tick is for?
I like what you've done with the drop downs for the show sub forums though, and the way you've organised it overall shows you've put a lot of thought into it.

I know the design is not really TV like. Most of those are incredibly "busy" .The idea of the design was something very simple, not necessarily full page, but something that would be easy to navigate through. I couldn't find a design that was tv like, simple to navigate, and not "busy". To me, the idea was to present a clean layout without a lot of background noise, which this does

The tick really isn't "for" anything, more of a placeholder as it were. The only downfall I've seen with this theme is that it's table oriented, rather than CSS, which means that if one thing is out of place, the entire layout is shot.

I appreciate that, and yeah, I've put a lot of thought and time into this specific forum. For something less than a month old, I'd say it's already onto a good start, but that's just a start ;) .
