Ohh noz lol... check this post out by Kevin regarding Paul M's statement on the mod, also in that post is a link to the 3.5 version Pual commented on which is said to work w/ 3.8

Usually if you read the last couple of pages of comments, you will see people answer the question about whether it works on the current version of vB.

I will always suggest that you read the WHOLE (yes, seriously) modification thread prior to installing. Issues will be brought up and resolved, or not, and it is best to know about these issues *before* you install.
