Im curious. I have seen photopost on a few sites, but also have seen the odd thread around on people who want to move their photopost to the inbuilt galleries.
My Question is, have any of you had experience with both and which do you prefer? Why? And more importantly what are the pros and cons of each?

I (http://www.toontownhall.com/gallery) honestly use PhotoPlog (http://www.photoplog.com). It's a lot cheaper and does the same job as PhotoPost. I try to find value personally.

Thing I see missing with photoplog is the mass upload for member, rotate images etc ... I know I dont have this with the current galleries however if Im gonna pay for something then I would rather pay for something that has the most feature albeit a lot more money...
Was just curious as to the reasons people would move back to using the gallery with vbulletin, or is it simply the money? Tightness of integration (being that it is part of vbulletin in the firts place)
EDIT: yeah Im aware of the ftp on photoplog, just not really userfriendly as my site is fully of tecnophobes LOL .... zip is as far as I'll go LOL

Im moving from vbaGallery to vB's user albums for simplicity and ease. My users generally don't require all the whistles and bells with a full fledged gallery system, they simply want to upload and share some pics. Ditching the gallery system I currently have also means 1 less system to keep up to date and with the inevitable release of vb4, it is one less system to have to worry about transitioning.

What where your thoughts on stuff like the albums not supporting features like 'keep the original full size' picture?

Hello guys,
I bought a photopost license some years ago, now I dont know what to do, if stay with it or move to vBulletin's. The thing is, that upgrades and integration is gonna get better each day, and having software from different vendors is a CON, even if they integrate. So I guess I'll be migrating to vB's.
My 2 cents

guys what are u talking about ?
IMO jelsoft has made a few big mistakes.
instead of developing vb they focused on developing other things that unfortunately caused some other great 3rd party software to die
vbloggetin VS-interactive profiles were 2 . Now we have the ugly vblog which is a complete junk compared to vbloggetin (which had but they whould have been worked out) and as far as the whole social network thing i whould definitely have prefered 3rd addons
Jelsoft will not stop there.
they announced vbulletin SEO as a move against vbseo
and the built thing album thing is awful. the last i whould want to see is Jelsoft doing a gallery built in vb.
BTW photopost is great. 6.22 doesnt have any bugs (so far) and great capabilities. Photoplog ? sure this should be good too but that depends on what ur site really needs.
The only thing that Photopost needs is a couple of new features (like better SEO, pagenation in albums and an option to allow guests to view X numbers of pics and then prompt to register which it can be done with a vb product as well if someone here wants to code it)
Other that Photopost is cool if ur site needs those features u should go with it.

PhotoPost vBGallery 2.5 (launched this week) makes it so that you no longer have to choose between vBulletin's profile album functionality or PhotoPost full-featured "global" category based galleries. 2.5 includes all of vBulletin's profile albums and includes a vbulletin->vbgallery importer so you can turn off vBulletin's built-in albums and not lose any features.
Plus as mentioned above, vbgallery now includes a flash uploader to allow multiple image uploads at once.
