We used this hack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=105958) back in the good ol' 3.5 days. Once 3.7 was released, we realized that the hack was causing around half our hits to the database and reluctantly let it go.

Is there anyone that has created or can create something similar without all the hits to the DB? I loved this hack, and would like to put it back in our forums.

What's the difference in your DB queries with and without the plugin? I think I tried this one, too, and watched the queries climb to an unacceptable level. :(

I never checked until now. It adds an additional 9 queries. Yikes.

Thanks for inadvertently bringing this to my attention. :p

Yeah.. That's why this one didn't get loaded, too. :)

So, back to the original question.. Can anyone redo this without the additional query load?

At the very least I see the first one needing 3 queries minimum to complete.
