View Full Version : Why would "editpost" suddenly stop working?

Anyone have any idea why the editpost feature would suddenly just stop working? Everything else is working fine ... New Reply, Quote, Multi-Quote, everything. Just Edit suddenly won't respond.
Ran Repair/Optimize Tables and everything checked out okay ... but the problem remains.
Help?

Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php
define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
Don't forget that for vbseo, disabling the modification means to also get rid of anything extra you added to your htaccess file.

Thanks for the help, Lynne. Adding the code to config.php does indeed temporarily resolve the editpost problem, but of course also disables all my plugins. When I remove the code again, the editpost problem remains.
I had someone install Zoints SEO for me yesterday ... was thinking that was the problem so I disabled it, but the editpost issue remains.

Disable your products one by one and test to see if its working to figure out which product is causing the issue.

You'll need to completely uninstall the modification to return your templates to their original state.

^ That completely depends on the product that is causing the problem, not all products make automatic template edits and even fewer make the edits directly to the templates in the DB.

Just discovered the editpost will work after TWO clicks. First time it just churns, second click it opens the edit box as normal. Not sure if that's not stranger than the problem I thought I had. :cool:

FYI ... uninstalled Zoints SEO, but the issue remains. That's the only modification I've added recently enough to have caused the problem.

Did you undo the htaccess edits? And any template edits?

I'm not aware of any htaccess or template edits that were made as part of the Zoints install, Lynn. Guess I'll have to get with the installer on that.
I do appreciate the assist.

I downloaded the modification and depending on certain options you pick, then there may be edits to your htaccess and your templates.

Understood. Unfortunately, I'm not technical enough yet to recognize them.
