I am trying to add images after my forum description. I tried to link the images inside my public_html/images/statusicons folder.. but for some reason when i open the website it asks for username and password... what am i doing wrong??? how can i link image to my server directory??? any example of any paths please...please help me..

thanks but that didn't help...i need to know how to add image path...give me some example of what path to put in img src ...

if it's asking for a username, you might be trying to link to the ftp:// link.. make sure it's http://

could you by any chance enlighten u s bit more on what you are trying to do perhaps you could add an image of what you are trying to do, so we could help you better :D

i am trying to add image for forum after forum description and left align the image...and under the image i will have sub-forums...i uploaded images to my images folder and hyper linked after my forum description settings. the images show up in the website but it prompts for username and password which is for my webhosting a/c...how can i add hyperlink to my images inside image folder without it prompting me about username and password.???

How about the exact code you used? And you are talking about in Forum Manager > description field? So, how about the exact description you put into one of those forums.
