Avatar, transparent background

Hi
i have a problem in my forum, when somebody puts an avatar with transparent background, uploads it from pc or enter direct link, the transparent is set to white and it looks really ugly in my dark coloured forum, is there any way i can fix this? (png images)

P.S. if i upload the same img in a smf forum it is with normal transparent background as i made it in ps!

you have to set your configs to use ImageMagick instead of the GD library, because most of the webhosts do not handle official .gif transparency, due to the version of GD they use...

noone know how can i enable ImageMagick?
