Preventing a User from Posting in a Specific Forum

There is a specific user on my forum that I would like stop from posting in a specific public forum. Is there anyway I can do this without creating a new usergroup and setting up the appropriate privileges?

Go to Admin CP -> Users -> Search for User -> Edit Access Masks -> Find the forum -> "No"

Will the Access Mask hide the forum or completely cut off access to it for that user?

Both?

They can't access it... they can't follow links that lead to it... if your "top 5 stats" or "new posts" or anything has a thread/post from that board, he/she can't see it.
