I was looking through adminCP and didn't find that anywhere. You would think that it would be a standard feature...
Anyone know how to make Age and Gender mandatory for new users so they HAVE to enter it to register

Create a custom profile field, and where it says Field Required put "yes".

I believe if you turn on COPPA, then the birthdate info is required and users will not be able to modify that field once they are registered. Test it and see cuz I've never used it.
As for the gender, that isn't default vB so you'd have to do what BlueNinjaGo suggested.

Awesome THANKS ALOT GUYS it worked....

Alternatively I prefer keeping COPPA disabled (in order to reduce one screen) and simply enable User Profile Options -> Require Date of Birth.
Ths would bring the DOB field in the register page itself, which is better IMO.

I was just going through the vboptions looking for something and saw this options and came back to this thread to post about it! Do what veenu suggested - it's a better solution than enabling coppa.
