Rebuild Thread Information stops at a particular thread number

i am facing some problems with thread merging. so i decided to use the 'Rebuild Thread Information' feature.

but it hangs at a particular thread number.

what options do i have?

What do you mean by "hangs"? Does a white screen appear, etc.?

basically it was stopping at one particular thread number.

googled around and found out that plugins could be the reason.

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

used this code in config.php and ran the process. did fine.

i need to find out which plugins i can live without coz they are putting a lot of load on the forum.

On a test board with the same modifications (and other data if possible), disable modifications in turn to find the culprit.

i have no clue how to run a test installation. vbulletin allows a secondary installation for testing? :P
