Piratos: Are you trying to access screen.php? If so you'll get that error as its trying to grab an id number but without one it errors out. Check to see if you can see the Upload File link now. Make sure you import the bfc_download product xml with Overwrite set to YES.

EDIT: Nevermind what I said above regarding the Upload File link. I know the problem, I'll release a fix for it once I've woke up.

Great mod, simple but very nice. Really does the job.

Like Zia said, one thing would be nice. If you mod could handle with external files, I mean, instead of upload files if there is an option just to submit a link would be great.

Me and my users, we use a lot of shared system for big files, like 4Shared.com , You sendit, PDFtown.com and many others, you know, saving space means save $$ and your mod would be a great chance to keep everything organized.

It would be nice to have a feature for a remote file storage site, ftp to upload and http to download, and you can enable/disable and set the info for it in the panel. The invision download manager has this feature. So it would upload the file as normal to the web server, once that finished, php would upload the file to the remote ftp site. Good idea so the downloads don't slow down the main site.

Ok I have updated the zip file again, download and upload files overwriting existing ones. Import the product xml with Overwrite set to YES.

EDIT: Updated zip file with 1.0.2 BL files. This fixes multiple issues including permission problems. The screen.php is not found to be an error as of yet, if Piratos informs me of things that lead to it being a bug I will issue a fix asap.

Piratos: Uninstall the entire addon then reinstall with the zip file from this thread. I already tested it out on a test board, fresh install and it works fine, I can now see the Upload Link. If you want, set me up an admin account with access to styles and bfc-download stuff and I will get it working for you. Just PM me the admin access details if you want to do it that way.

Zia: That would be more of a feature for the Pro version.

I have discovered an issue with the uploading of files through the admincp file. Currently I am striving to fix this issue at the sametime I am trying to figure out how to use vB's upload class to upload the file without using any other added code.

category image not showing, not sure if it's pulling the image from the database correctly, or if the system doesn't have the php file pointing to the right directory, images are uploaded to the bfcd img folder.

Also just a feature request, can you add a way to pull files from the server like downloads II where you can enter an absolute path in the admin cp and it would pull the file. Also the files may work better not being database driven.

Not a problem, any eta on the next release as in all honesty the current release is really useless, has Absolutely no function (i can't even add a file or link to a file at this point).

Ok an update for everyone, the edit portion of categories is still giving me trouble. I have narrowed down the error to be a bad query so I'm working to solve that so that I can move on with other updates.

Edit: The edit cat issue is fixed. Adding finishing touches then good to go.

So the Download.php file is in that directory of course. But the 2 links mentioned above lead me to:

Why don?t they point into my Forums Directory where the Mod is installed. It should know its right location since its installed there.

tlwwolfseye: Could you reupload the download.php file from the admincp folder again please. I could not get the category deletion error to reproduce. If it still gives you that error after reupload, I will install on my site board as a fresh install and test it that way to see what happens.

EDIT: Ok on a fresh install of vB I tested the deletion of the example category and it went very well. So it must be a file version. Since this is beta I have no put version numbers at the top of each file. So the best thing to do is download the zip file, extract it then upload all files overwriting existing files.

everything worked no problem however, can you implement a way like Download II to Import a file, from the admin cp, meaning, to import you would type in an abosolute directory path /home/user/www/dir and it would do an ls and have an Import option with fields for me to fill in, like Author, ver. etc.

I can't get it working. Uploading to database or folders it is still the same.
When i try to upload a zip or rar-file i allways get the message:
File Upload Error
You have attempted to upload an attachment with a file extension that is not allowed.
Please use your back button and upload the file with a different extension.I changed from text/zip to only zip but that doesn't work too.
When i upload a png-image (therefor the upload works) and than try to open the category i get the following sql-error:

Storyteller69: The right type for zip is 'application/zip' not 'text/zip'. Not sure why the download_screenshots table was not created. Try running the product xml file again with overwrite set to YES.

With application/zip the upload works. But i still get the sql-error. Overwrite the product-file doesn't fixed it.

Can I have Max File Size > to 0 for no upload limit? can I add mp3, wmv, mp4, add All video files in > Usable File Types?

aakhan136: You shouldn't have to do any database editing or adding, its done automatically when the mod is first installed. Not sure the reason for your error, I will double check mine and see if maybe I might have removed admin permissions without thinking.

aakhan136: Actually, mp4 I believe is application/mp4 but I added mp4, zip and rar have been added as well. The rest need to be added and settings saved. Do not have spaces.

EDIT: Ok found the proper file type to set for mp4: video/mp4v-es
audio/mp4

You can use this site for file types: http://filext.com/file-extension/

Search for your extension such as .zip or .rar then scroll down till you see a box titled MIME Type.

I've had to put everything on hold, the company I was hosting with got hacked and all my data was lost. I only did monthly backups so it wasn't time for a new one, so I am having to restore a backup from mid June and some info I worked on will be lost. So for a week or 2 I have placed all my addons and such on hold till I get things settled in regards to my site.

The max file size is controlled through the options for the mod.

When I try to add a Screenshot to a file it doesn't upload one, I Browse then put the screenshot I want and hit the Upload and it then continues to a page with nothing so when I go back and check still no Screenshot.

Ok, installed, but have a couple of issues/questions. =)

First, I'm getting this error:

MySQL Error : Table 'trekkan_dhvforums.download_screenshots' doesn't existObviously the table wasn't created, I have file store selected and created the folders and changed the perms.

Second, the questions.

Can I set specific categories so that only specified usergroups can access them? I see you have usergroups setup on the files themselves, but it'd be nice to limit by category as well.

Having members enter usergroups can get confusing (especially when you use a lot of secondary usergroups like I do). First suggestion would be a multi-select box of usergroups (defined in the admin for this mod, which appear). If that is too much work, then I'd suggest... usergroup groups.

Basically where I as an admin would define a group by name, say "Mods and Admins", then I'd assign a value to this name of the usergroups I want it to contain like "6,7". this will allow me to add in whatever I wanted and eliminate the members from having to remember usergroup values. Then a dropdown would list all of these by description or better, a list of checkboxes and select which groups that way.

I'm not sure of the best way to go about that, but... I hope you get the idea. =)

Anyway, good stuff and can't wait to have it available to my members!

Ok, sorry for the multiple posts, but I'm digging at this trying to figure out the problem.

The tables were in fact created correctly, using my prefix as defined:

$config['Database']['tableprefix'] = 'dhv_';

However, as you can see by the error in the above post, this prefix is not being used in select statement. I took a look at download.php and found some queries that were missing the prefix.

Lines 343 and 344 are missing it, I fixed those in my version of download.php and took a look at all of the other DB calls in that file and couldn't find any more that were missing.

Another question is, I have it set to use the file system and not the database, but that doesn't appear to be working. I checked the file folders and there's nothing in ifiles for example (I assume this is where the files should be dumped?). However, the downloads do work, so the files are somewhere (another assumption is the database?).

When editing categories, after clicking save, this error appears during the save.

I took a look to see if I could figure out why saving into the file system wasn't working and it appears... there's no code to do it.

The setting is: bfc_download_storage

But that's not used in the \download.php file or templates, etc. When looking at the \download.php file, the only code there is for saving to the database, no checks at all if it should save into the file system and nothing that would do it if there were (that I can find).

However, the \admincp\download.php does appear to have code for the file system and this option. This would explain why myself and others who have gotten the unlink error get that error. We're set to file system, but there's nothing in the file system to remove, because all uploads are going into the database instead.

Since the download record is being deleted, the database record is actually being deleted anyway, so the good news is this isn't leaving unused data in the database.

There's a lot of code in the \admincp\download.php that pertains to the file system saving and having only looked at this code for a short amount of time, I could be wrong on all of this. So... no offense meant towards the author at all, this is good stuff, I'm just trying to debug the issues I'm having. =)

At the top of the \downloads.php file where access permissions are set, it looks like a copy/paste problem with permissions.

All of the permissions are set to to the "canaddfiles" permission. So if someone can add files, they can do anything, delete, etc, view, etc.

To fix:

Open \downloads.php

Find:

There's one change in each cat.php, screen.php and screenshot.php that needs to be made.

You need to include the database prefix in those as well.

Uploading Category Images:

If file system is on, the files write correctly to the file system.
The category images show correctly in the Admin CP.
The category images DO NOT show to end users.

If the file system is off, the files write correctly to the database.
The category images DO NOT show correctly in the AdminCP.
The category images show correctly to end users.

Editing a file already uploaded:

The category is not selected, it defaults to the "----" category and you have to reset it.

If you make the changes I mentioned, it works pretty good. Mostly just needs and update from the author. In all fairness, he does list it as BETA. Also, if you don't use a DB prefix for your table names, half of the changes are not necessary.

The only thing really is, all uploading files are going to be in your database, not the file system. I'll look into that when I have some time, but hopefully the author responds and gets all of it fixed before then as I'm just digging around in his code, he knows it better than I do.
