Critique needed

Here's a layout of a site that I'm helpin a friend design. I'm happy with the layout, but not crazy about the colors. Any opinions or suggestions ? This is based on my own forum http://www.geckosunlimited.com/community

Logo is great. The color combo is unique. But as you said you are not crazy about the colors. Maybe you can try either one only, green or blue. If you ask me, I will pick green.Then the whole text area using soft chocolate/earth/ground pastel color including the left sidebar menu just like your own site.

I like the green and blue, but there are too many big chunks of green. I think if you added more whitespace it would look better.

I also think there's too much green. I would substitute the green in the welcome message box for a white background. And maybe also change the .tcat background to blue.
