I've been doing some heavy customizing on one of my sites. It aims to provide a simler layout for easy navigation. It is still work in progress but it should go live within the week. Here's how it will look. Comments welcome:

Good work, but it's not as clean as it should be. It's still pretty cluttered with vB bloat.
Style the breadcrumb a bit, that may help. Get rid of Thread Tools / Display Modes / Forum Tools, Posting Rules, etc. Maybe even place "search this forum" as a form in the right column or something?
Remove "Threads in Category: Category Name". It's irrelevant. Most people remember where they are, and if not, the breadcrumb tells them. Maybe I'm being too picky with that one, but you could at least get rid of the "Threads in category:" text, and just have the category name instead. Simple alternative.

Wow, really eye-pleasing and professional looking, not to mention the useful forums! ;)
Are you only customizing the forums, or will you be customizing other parts of VB, like social groups, user profiles, userCP, calendar, etc?

Akademiks, I might not be able to share this since the main design of the site was made by Nokia.
vbboarder, right now, we only use the forums. As we expand to social groups and gallery, I might change them as well. Yes, the control panel needs to be changed too. It had lower priority since guests won't seem it anyway.
Thanks.
looks like a lot of work but really nice, isn't that going to be a pain to upgrade vbulletin versions though? besides that amazing work

This is why Jelsoft should have implemented a semantic tableless layout with version 3.X, and it's the main reason why vB is just not practical for my needs.

I don't think it'll be hard. If you leave all the hooks in tact, you should be fine.
Thanks all!
