Can vB create RSS for new threads And replies in a forum?

I'm new to vB, but we just purchased a license in order to try to move our email blast-style communication to a forums/boards-based approach.

However - our people addicted to the instant gratification of emails -- and I wonder how we can recreate this real-time communication experience with vB...

Is there a way to configure email notifications and/or RSS feed updates for every posted thread AND reply in vB? On a user-by-user subscription basis, based on their preferences?

For example, (and ideally) we'd love to allow any member to subscribe to a forum and opt to get updates via email and/or a RSS feed of that forum whenever someone creates or replies to any thread.

Can the RSS or emails include a large % or even all of the posted thread/reply?

The default RSS feed for vbulletin will give you feeds for new threads, not replies. I'm not sure if there is a modification for that. Try searching "feed*" or "repl*" in "all mods" "titles only"

Looks like I'm not the only one that was interested in the idea... I haven't yet found any solutions. I'll keep digging through the forums to see how one would go about tweaking the code or finding a 3rd party module.
