I am trying to tie the vb.org and vb.com accounts together with my jl@*******.com email which under which I have a licensed version of vbulletin. I went to http://members.vbulletin.com/membersupport_priority.php to make sure the emails were set up properly, however when I try to download a hack I get the message:

=========================
Jumbo, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

You show up as licensed, so my guess is you are trying to download something from a forum that is read-only (like in the Archives). Post a link to the thread.

I am trying to download v3 Articles 1.0.1 - [vB 3.0.1] from: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=65934

ok, first, that addon is 5 years old... 5 years on the internet mean 20 centuries... this hack is obsolete

second, John is not supporting his stuff anymore, that's why it was put to thearchives at first... you will have to find another solution.

It's also for 3.0.1 so unless you are running that version you don't want it anyway... :)

You have to make sure your version is the same version supported by the mod.

^^ What they said. The mod is in the Archives which means it is no longer available for downloading.

Ok, thanks, that explains it. Perhaps the download link should be taken down or a more accurate error message would be beneficial.

Wow, that brings back memories, writing all the security fixes for that mod.

Security problems seem like a common theme for many vb mods. I guess there is really no article directory mods out there other now? I did some searches and most I find are pretty much posts made to kind of look like articles. I may need to find someone to create something for me, or go the easier route of integrating non vbulletin code into my vbulletin site.

Well, really, what are you looking for? I mean, I can't see what all it does, I can only read the description. vBulletin has built in RSS support to post threads based on RSS content. If you elaborate some more, we might be able to assist you.

A way for me or others to post articles to a directory structure. I am converting a site to vbulletin an have a bunch of articles I want to put in a directory structure and also allow members to add articles just like an article directory.
