Help with right column

Hi,

I've got a right column in the template.. But it's not quite where I want it.. I'd like it outside of the forum area, over the background. Just a little to the right of where it is now:

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Well.. I partially found a solution. I basically put each section in a table, and then on the same row, but it in different cells.. Easy enough.. But on PM areas, the ads push way over to the left and cover up the checkboxes for PM's. Everywhere else on the site is fine.. Is there a standard method or bit of code for building a right column for VB?
