Hi all,

On my own forum, http://www.perfectpicture.co.za the smiley's aren't working since I've upgraded to 3.8.2 (latest?)

when I post, or reply to a thread, I can see the smiley's, but I can't click on them, and when I type in for example : ), it doesn't convert to smiley either.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Create a new style with no parent:

Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Add New Style
Parent Style: No Parent Style
Title: Default vBulletin
Allow User Selection: Yes
Save

Then browse the site using that totally default vbulletin style - do you still have the same problem?

If it is still happening - Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Don't forget that for vbseo, disabling the modification means to also get rid of anything extra you added to your htaccess file.

Hi Lynne,

Thanx for the tips. I have created the new default template, but it didn't help.

I also disabled all plugins, and added the code to the config.php as you said, and it still doesn't work. Any other suggestions?

Do you have a test account to use and a thread I can try doing a test post in? Also, your site is down at the moment so I'm unable to see what is going on.

I don't want to register which is why I asked if you have a test account.

Also, you realize that your css is not showing/being applied on your page there?

I see a smilie on here - http://www.perfectpictures.co.za/showthread.php?t=769 It's huge, but it's there.

Hi Lynne,

Why not? I don't have a test account, and need to explicitly setup one. But if it's such a pain for you, then don't worrt about it.

Sorry, but I don't register for people's site's here just to help them out with a problem. I've gotten too much spam emails from admins who feel the need to inform me every time they do a change on their site. No thanks.

sure, I understand that, but I would have deleted the account, very quickly, if you wanted me to.
