What if vBulletin had a development section? I would really like that. For people planning to code big styles (well.. maybe not styles), or big modifications, and want to get suggestions, and post what they've already got completed.

Is this something vb.org would be willing to add?

Sounds like a great idea to me!

sure, best place to steal ideas... i post about what i plan, and you do it on your side... blah blah...

it's not a development community here, it's a release repository.

or maybe you just don't post topics about the ones that really matter to you? obviously if you want it to be more exclusive hopefully your smart enough not to go running your mouth about it.

Well then, what would you post there? Stuff that you really don't want to get ideas on?

Most people develop or have something devolved for them that matters to them.

I don't understand what the purpose of this section would be. If someone needs help with code, they just ask in the regular forums. Why would they need a special section for it? If they have it completed, they just post it in the Modifications/Styles forums (and sometimes mark it as beta if they are still working out some kinks).

Wouldn't the private coders and designers discussion forum be better suited for this? I mean, People already collaborate their ideas with other developers and gain additional information from the most experienced developers around the vbulletin community. What I'm saying is, the area already exists, I'm quite sure you need to post in the mods, themes or graphics and/or get a certain amount of installs to get access to this area. I may be wrong and the area is freely viewable to anyone that visits.

most areas already exists, there is no need for more forums here... they are just wrongly used, which make the forum a little bit bloat from time to time...

Forums already exist in which this can take place - there is a programming discussion forum, a design and graphics discussion forum and a general vb discussion forum.
