What is the best way to get a forum going, I have been trying for about two weeks and im still not getting anywhere.

What is the best way to get a forum going, I have been trying for about two weeks and im still not getting anywhere.

One thing I learned is patience, it will happen. It took about 6-8 months for it to really get going.

Also, register yourself in a bunch of different accounts, then start holding conversations with yourself. People like to see that a board is active before they join. That's what got my board going. I also started anything that I joined, adding my forum listing in the signature. That helped out too.

A) Who your target user base is
B) Where those users are now on the internet
C) What do you have that similar forums don't
D) How to reach those users, and let them know who you are, and what you have to offer
