View Full Version : RSS feed from classifieds not RSS feed?

When I try to enter the "rss feed" from my classifieds section in a validator it tells me its not a feed its a webpage and when I try to call it from my rss manager its gives an error. Please help. I want to make a post in th emain forum when something new in added to the classifieds.

Why are you entering your rss feed into a validator?

Perhaps post a link to the feed and we can see if someone else gets the error also.

Um, that is a webpage. Take a look at it. You've got your header and navbar and color and everything. An rss feed looks like this - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external.php

understand that. I was clicking the "rrs" button and that is what I was getting. So how do I have it make a post in a particular forum when someone post something to the classifieds?

Edit: and that link is what the page I am originaly looking at. I see a link that saids "feed properties" and when licked, thats the address I get.

I don't know what "classifieds" is - it is a forum? Or a Mod? If it's a forum, you need to have the external data provider on for the forums (vboptions > external data provider) and then you would use external.php?type=rss&forumids=x as the rss feed. If it's a mod, then you need to find out if there is an rss feed offered with it.

The link doesn't work cuz you have to be logged in to see anything. But, in order to feed that to your forum, you need an rss feed for it. Does the modification come with one? If not, you'd have to do *something* in order to create a feed of that page.

According to the buttons im seeing it does. I can research the authors post as well. but if you have time I set up an account for you to look at what I am talking about. Just click the "classifieds" link in th enavbar.

Is this the mod - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=205236 ? If so, you should ask in the thread what the rss feed url is.
